Kelly Slater wins 10th ASP World Championship

As reported on Surfer TodayKelly Slater won his 10th ASP World Championship title on Saturday, November 6th at Middles in Puerto Rico. The Cocoa Beach, Florida native is arguably both the greatest surfer of all time and one of the greatest athletes of all time, yet his recent accomplishment was barely noticed by most mainstream sports journalist.

Kelly holds 45 WCT victories and has the unique distinction of having been both the youngest person, at age 20, and the oldest person, at age 38, to win the ASP World Championship title.

The following video shows some of the final day highlights from the historic day Rip Curl Pro Search in Puerto Rico;

Here’s entertaining video called Evolution of a 10 Time Champion;

Kelly dedicated his 10th title win to recently deceased friend and long-time rival Andy Irons.
